Former Lakeland City Commissioner Michael Dunn was sentenced Monday to three years in prison for fatally shooting a homeless man who was shoplifting a hatchet from the military surplus store that Dunn managed.
Judge Donald Jacobsen sentenced Dunn on Monday after nearly four hours of testimony. He also sentenced Dunn to 10 years of probation and 200 hours of community service.
