On Friday, #PCFR personnel responded to a vehicle versus structure call located in Lakeland, FL. Prior to PCFR’s arrival, the driver of the vehicle involved was safely removed from their vehicle and awaited for first responders to arrive.
After the first PCFR crews arrived and evaluated their patient, they quickly turned their attention to the structure involved and noticed multiple stress fractures along the buildings load bearing wall. The stress fractures observed led command staff to request for PCFR’s Technical Rescue Team to respond to the scene.
Upon the PCFR Technical Rescue Teams’ arrival they recognized the hazard the compromised load bearing wall was causing and quickly began constructing two t-spot shores to relieve weight from the structures trusses. Great work to PCFR Engine 6, Heavy 9, Battalion 1 and SOC 1
