Cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Polk County.
The infection rate rose 9.37% in the week ending Thursday, to 397.64 per 100,000 residents, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID Tracker website.
The CDC continues to list Polk County as high for community levels of COVID-19, along with all but seven of Florida’s 66 other counties. The CDC reported a positivity rate of 23.05% for Polk County, an increase of 2.11% from a week earlier.
That rate is based on testing reported to the Florida Department of Health and does not include results of home testing.
