Bandit, a calico cat, was with her retired owner Fred Everitt in Mississippi when at least two people tried to break into their shared home last week, and the cat did everything she could to alert Everitt of the danger. He got up and saw two men outside his back door with a handgun and crowbar. By the time Everitt got a handgun and returned to the kitchen, the would-be intruders had already fled
“You hear of guard dogs,” Everitt, 68, said. “This is a guard cat.”
