The intersection of N. Galloway Road and Sleepy Hill Road will remain closed for another week as Lakeland Electric installs power service to a temporary lighting system at the new roundabout, which is now scheduled to open Friday, September 23.
Installation of the permanent lighting system is pending fabrication and delivery of aluminum poles delayed by supply-chain issues. Depending on destination, westbound traffic on Sleepy Hill Road will detour north or south at Kathleen Road to bypass work zone, while northbound traffic along N. Galloway Road will detour at Knights Station Road and southbound traffic will be redirected to Kathleen Road to avoid closure. Congestion and delays can be expected, especially during peak-hour traffic. Motorists are advised to travel safely, follow detour signs, and add drive time to trips through this area.
