Polk County Utilities is asking residents for help in limiting the amount of water used during and after the storm. This will help reduce sanitary sewer backups caused by the loss of power in your area.
We ask that you:
- Turn off your outdoor irrigation systems if you have them
- Refrain from running dishwashers and clothes washers if you have power
- Limit the amount of water used during a shower or the amount to fill a bathtub, and
- Limit the amount of toilet flushing
These efforts will help reduce sewer backups due to anticipated loss of power in the area.

Polk County Utilities está pidiendo ayuda a los residentes para limitar la cantidad de agua utilizada durante y después de la tormenta. Esto ayudará a reducir las obstrucciónes de alcantarillado sanitario causadas por la pérdida de energía en su área.
Le pedimos que:
• Apague sus sistemas de riego al aire libre, si los tiene
• Abstenerse de hacer funcionar lavavajillas y lavadoras de ropa, si tiene energía eléctrica
• Limite la cantidad de agua utilizada durante una ducha o la cantidad para llenar una bañera,
• Y
• Limite la cantidad de descarga del inodoro
Estos esfuerzos ayudarán a reducir las obstrucciónes de alcantarillado debido a la pérdida anticipada de energía en el área.
