Saluting Fallen Firefighters on National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day
Sunday, October 9, 2022, is Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day; a day that honors the heroes in Fire Departments across the United States who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in their communities. Flags are at half-staff in remembrance and profound respect for those who lost their lives in the performance of their duties.
The names of 148 fallen firefighters were added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The list of heroes includes 108 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2021 and 40 who died in previous years. May each of us take a moment to pause and honor the service of these heroes.
