Downtown Lakeland puts on a First Friday celebration every First Friday of every month and on Jan 6, 2023, the First Friday theme is Three Kings.
Just Cares, Inc is the title sponsor for the Jan 2023 First Friday celebration and they will be hosting a Three Kings event in Munn Park with a live band.
Tito Puentes JR, Mambo/Latin Grammy artist and son of the Legendary Rey Del Timbal (King of Timbales), and his Latin Jazz Ensemble will be playing a free concert in Munn Park.
For many Christians in Spain and Latin America, the holiday season officially ends on January 6, which is the 12th day of Christmas known as the Feast of the Epiphany, or Three Kings’ Day.
The holiday celebrates the biblical tale in which the Three Kings, or Three Wise Men, Gaspar (or Caspar), Melchior, and Balthasar, visit baby Jesus after his birth.
This event is a way to introduce that time-honored tradition to those who may be unfamiliar with it in Lakeland.
The January First Friday is Friday, January 6 th from 6pm to 9 pm and the band will be playing from 6 to 9 pm as well. Additionally, the Three Kings, Gaspar (or Caspar), Melchior, and Balthasar will be making a special appearance.
