We are so proud of our #LakelandFD #firefighters– for the first time in nearly ten years, #LFD participated in the statewide Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) competition. Lakeland Firefighters Brett Knoll, Wade Kirkland, Justin McCarty, Jimmy Craw, and Lieutenant Jon Chilton were one of 20 teams at Fire-Rescue EAST in Daytona Beach.
The competition simulates the skills required to rapidly deploy on the scene to rescue lost, trapped, or injured firefighters. Our guys put a lot of time and effort into training, and we can’t wait to see them again next year in Orlando!
