A Fresh Kitchen build-a-bowl restaurant is coming soon to South Lakeland, the restaurant announced on its website. GRAND OPENING 04.18.23
While the exact date is not known, the Tampa-based restaurant chain is expected to open soon next to the new Aldi store already on South Florida Avenue at Alamo Drive.
In plans submitted to Lakeland’s planning department, the site gained approval for a 2,706-square-foot restaurant on a 1.07-acre lot at 4520 S. Florida Ave., once occupied by the former Lash Auto Sales.
The offers a “build-a-bowl” concept and offers single bowls of four ingredients for less than $9, its online menu said. That includes two bases, one vegetable, one protein, and one sauce. For bigger appetites, the six-bowl offered for under $11 includes two bases, doubles the vegetables and proteins, and one sauce.
The bases include brown rice, spinach salad, kale slaw, citrus rice, power rice, coconut ginger rice, sweet potato noodles, cauliflower potato mash and baby kale Caesar. All bases, which can be seasonal, are gluten-free, “non-dairy friendly” and “vegan friendly.” None contain added processed sugar.
“Just like our taste buds, our recipes change with the season,” the Fresh Kitchen website said explaining the concept at the fast-casual restaurant for “chef-inspired” bowls.
“Not all food is prepared equally! The FK difference is in the preparation and taste: Flavorful veggies, expertly charred meats and chicken, perfectly cooked rice, quinoa, noodles and dressings that make you say, ‘WOW,’” its website said.
The roasted vegetables include parmesan broccoli, basil mushrooms, sesame green beans, golden spice chickpeas and maple sweet potatoes. Its protein ingredients include grilled citrus chicken, barbeque chicken, chilled Caprese tofu, herb grilled steak, roasted salmon and almond baked chicken.
Sauces include creamy white ginger, herb balsamic vinaigrette, coconut sriracha, holy kale with a range of add-ons. Its beverages include pressed juices, teas and juice frescos, which are prepared at the restaurant daily.
