The shooting took place near the 1600 block of Lincoln Avenue, west of Florida Avenue, and 10th Street, Lakeland police spokeswoman Robin Tillett said in a news release.
A Lakeland police officer was shot and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at roughly 5:45 p.m.
The teenager also suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Tillett.
No further details are immediately available regarding the shooter or the circumstance around the shooting.
