The Twisted Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary recipes are probably the most varying of all the cocktail recipes. For years I wouldn’t go anywhere near this unusual concoction. And once I finally tried it, I hated it. It wasn’t until I learned to mix drinks myself that I really got an idea of how a Bloody Mary should taste. Purists will only use pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, and lemon juice. And of course, tomato juice and vodka. But these days you can find anything from oysters to bacon in a Bloody Mary and I, for one, am here for it! I love to experiment with ingredients. My personal recipe takes a big step away from the traditional and is constantly evolving.

Ingredients:

2 oz vodka

¾ cup Original V8 Juice

A couple of dashes of Crystal Hot Sauce

½ tsp Old Bay Seasoning

¼ cup olive juice

1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Combine all ingredients and stir in a tall glass over ice. Garnish in any of a million ways. I, personally, like a celery stalk, olives, and a lemon wedge.
