The safety standards for Lakeland firefighters have been raised with the addition of heavy-duty decontamination washers that our members can now utilize.
Two Decon Washer Pro S have been installed at both Station 1 and Station 4. These washers, specifically designed for heavy-duty cleaning of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), helmets, and face masks, were purchased through a grant award of nearly $40,000.
Lakeland Fire Department is one of the very few organizations in the state to have this level of decontamination. LFD Administration will continue to maximize opportunities to purchase additional units as available.
