This weekend (May 28), a passenger vehicle traveling eastbound on I-4 caught fire, temporarily shutting down all interstate lanes around 9:15 AM.
Engine 31 and Battalion 2 arrived on the scene to find the car located on the highway shoulder with a well-involved fire. Engine 41 was also dispatched to the call and provided blocking from traffic for responding units.
The vehicle’s occupants were able to all safely evacuate before the firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire. Following the overhaul, the scene was turned over to Florida Highway Patrol.
