On Saturday, June 17, 2023, Polk County Animal Control will host an “Adoptapalooza” event from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at their facility located at 7115 De Castro Road in Winter Haven (conveniently located right off the Polk Parkway Winter Lake Road exit).
“We can’t believe that there are still people out there who don’t realize that Animal Control adopts out cats and dogs – and we do, every day! This summer we’re trying something new with an ‘Adoptapalooza’ event – with FREE pet adoptions. Each pet we adopt out will already have its initial shots, a microchip, and will be spayed or neutered. That is a HUGE cost savings. If you already have a pet that needs shots, our partners at TLC Petsnip will be available for low-cost vaccinations. We’ll also have food trucks and a crafters market. Bring the whole family, and find your furr-ever friend!” – Grady Judd, Sheriff
