We will be featuring cats all month long who are available for adoption. Here’s our first two featured kitties that are and ready for their forever homes. Sasha and Vaughan are 2 years old and roommates in a foster home in Gainesville. Although, the pair are chummy, they have completely different personalities. Sasha is a little spicy like a true tortiseshell kitty and wants to be petted–but on her terms. She and her feline friend get along well, but Sasha would be purrfectly happy in a home with just her humans. She is vocal when she wants attention from her foster dad and let’s him know when he’s not obliging. Sasha is a curious one who scouts out things to play with such as stealing shoelaces from shoes and snatching papers off the printer. She has an intense dislike for the vacuum cleaner and begins hissing when it’s wheeled out from the closet.
On the other hand, Vaughan is a low-key kind of guy who just likes to chill on the bed or cat tree. He was very shy when first arriving at his foster home but has warmed up nicely. He likes everyone and will now greet friends and family once they’ve settled in for their visits. Vaughan has a soft, fawn and white tabby coat and topaz-colored eyes and tips the scale at 11 lbs. The laser pointer and turbo scratching mat are his favorite toys in addition to Amazon boxes. He is a deep sleeper and spends about 10-12 hours a day in a state of slumber. He has learned to hold his own with his saucy roommate, Sasha, knocking her off the cat tree whenever she’s hogging it and won’t move.
An ideal home for Sasha would be one with no small children and an experienced cat owner to understand and appreciate her fiesty purrsonality. Meow!
Vaughan also would happiest in a home with older children as sudden and loud noises make him nervous. He is so laid-back that he would have no problem making friends with another cat but will definitely need time to adjust and acclimate to his new home.
Although both cats are being fostered in Gainesville, it is not an issue to transport them locally for a meet and greet. They will be in Lakeland June 12-15 and we can arrange a visit at that time.
