Three teenagers were killed in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night.
The crash happened in front of the Northtowne Square Shopping Center on U.S. Highway 98 North around 10:30 p.m.
Lakeland police said they found three unresponsive teens inside a 2012 Nissan Versa.
The driver, a 16-year-old girl, was extricated from the car and taken to a hospital, where she died.
A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said they believe the 16-year-old driver was speeding when she hit a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT truck that was turning into the shopping plaza.
After the crash, the Lincoln truck hit a Toyota Corolla that was attempting to exit the plaza.
The Lincoln truck driver and the Toyota Corolla driver both suffered minor injuries but were not taken to a hospital, police said.
The northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 98 North were closed for several hours due to the crash. They reopened Thursday morning.
