After a career with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office that lasted just over eight years (56 in dog years), K-9 Vise is hanging up his collar and heading into retirement.
Vise’s partner in crime-fighting, Master Deputy Sheriff Scott Cronin is still far from retiring, so he will be partnered up with a rookie.
Vise was born in Slovakia back in 2014, then moved to Polk County, Florida when he was just 13 months old and soon joined the PCSO.
Vise’s career though hasn’t always been a bowl of chicken nuggets.
In March 2020, Vise suffered nine stab wounds on the head during the apprehension of an armed burglar in Lakeland. Three weeks later, Vise was back in action, looking for more bad guys to capture.
Then in 2022, Vise had to have surgery for pancreatitis.
Vise has had a good run with us, and we wish him a happy retirement filled with lots of chew toys and meat products.
