The opening date for the restructured Publix Super Market at Oakbridge in Lakeland is set for Nov. 9.
A deli worker at a nearby location said the layout of the Oakbridge store would feature a circular deli area to the right just past the front doors, a similar layout to the recently built County Line location and other new layouts statewide.
Training for various departments for the new Oakbridge crew has been ongoing, he said. Employees who were displaced by the store closing were shuffled to locations closer to their homes and some will return to Oakbridge by opening day.
The Publix Oakbridge store in Lakeland, built in 1988, closed on Sept. 10 last year for the rebuild. At the time, city records showed the project would take about one year to finish.
