On Sunday, September 24th, PCSO deputies responded to a residential area in the area of Mercury Drive and Galloway Road in Lakeland, after an armed disturbance was reported.
It was reported that 27-year-old Dominic Goings had gotten into a verbal argument with a 14-year-old girl in front of his home after the girl’s motorbike stalled out and she tried to restart it.
During the argument, two adults approached, and Goings was said to have pointed a firearm at them.
According to their statements, Goings then pointed the gun in the air and fired it once, pushed one of the victims, and fired another round into the ground.
The three victims ran away and called the Sheriff’s Office.
Goings admitted to deputies that he argued with the others, and initially denied firing it.
Deputies located an ammo-casing at the scene where the argument occurred.
Goings was arrested and he was going to jail.
The gun was located inside Goings’ residence and it was discovered that the firearm had been reported stolen out of Martin County.
Dominic Going is a convicted felon (robbery) out of Indiana. He is an admitted gang member and was also found to be in possession of marijuana.
Goings was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (3 counts), Battery, Discharging a Firearm in a Residential Area, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, Grand Theft, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Goings was released on $22,500 bond on 9/26/2023
