Lakeland Police School Resource Officers have a new initiative, “Books with the Blue” and the Lakeland Kiwanis Club is providing the books.
Lakeland Officers and team members will read and give the books to designated students at four schools chosen by the Polk County School Board. This program is designed to enhance the love of reading, increase reading fluency, and comprehension and build positive relationships with the students.
