A theft occurred at the Circle K store on 4415 Old Kathleen Road in Lakeland. A man stole a cash-filled donation bucket. The Polk County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the case and are trying to identify the suspect. The incident happened at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
The suspect wore blue jeans and a black shirt. He had short hair and a thin beard. The store clerk saw him put a phone charger in his pants pocket near the counter. When the clerk approached him, the suspect took a pink cash-filled bucket from the counter and left the store.
The stolen bucket was for donations to help a citizen who had surgery and needed financial help. The suspect left the store with a smile.
Detective Wright from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the suspect or the crime to contact him. People can also submit anonymous tips through Heartland Crime Stoppers by phone, their website, or their free ‘P3tips’ app.
The stolen funds were intended to help a citizen in need. The authorities are working to identify and catch the suspect.
