Zechariah 14: 2-3 “For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.”
America will throw Israel “under the bus,” not because of votes as many would think, but because the scripture says we will.
Keep in mind the wordings in the Bible and what they mean today are at times different from when they were written. The phrase “gather all nations against Jerusalem” would directly indicate “the world” and that includes the U.S.
We must add to our thinking in this case, “the world as they knew it.” The people, including Zachariah, did not know the western hemisphere existed. So we must include in our thinking, the entire world as we know it today.
God has many times in scriptural references found opportunities to demonstrate His awesome power. Creation itself is such an example. The freeing of the Hebrew people from bondage in Egypt and the parting of the waters of the Red Sea are among others.
Of course His ability to be resurrected from dead to alive and eternal is the miracle that dominates the examples. By such an action, God gave mankind the opportunity to experience eternal life (Romans 6: 23).
In my thinking, it is time for another very powerful and impossible to ignore, action on God’s part to get the world’s attention. Humankind, even in America, has placed our Creator in a position of little importance far too long. He will only tolerate such indifference so long (Isaiah 5: 20).
Exodus 34: 14 “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” He will only allow Himself to be preempted for so long before He will act.
Many in the world are asking, if the war in Israel today is a forerunner to the return of Christ. Whether it is or not, it would be expedient for all to regard it as such. God will judge the earth based on His criteria and not ours (Romans 14: 10).
Governments of the world can make all the rules and laws they see fit, but in the end, only God’s laws and rules will matter (Acts 5: 29). We will continue to witness His prophesies happen and direct evidence of His omnipotence and omniscience (Matthew 19: 26).
Should we ask the question “Why would God leave the ‘apple of His eye,’” (Deuteronomy 32:10) hanging out on a limb for all to persecute?” God did most certainly establish the Jewish people to provide the world with a Savior (Genesis 12: 3).
That being one purpose may not be the only purpose. God has to occasionally remind us of WHO HE IS. The natural disasters we have witnessed in the last few years may very well be His way of getting our attention (Luke 21: 25).
Climate change may be another and of course El Nino this year and the consequent flooding worldwide are examples (Ecclesiastes 1: 7). We must constantly remind ourselves, God is in control and He will win in the end (Revelation 11: 15).
America may very well be the last holdout of all the nations that support Israel. God has indeed blessed America. The political, racial and cultural ambivalence experienced in America since the turn of the century appears to indicate that divine protection America has enjoyed may be over (Hebrews 12: 28-29).
Be assured, God will manifest Himself to the world. No one knows when that will happen even though many of us believe it is happening now. Many are not paying attention or do not know what to watch for.
God said to Abraham in Genesis 12: 3 “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
When God makes a promise, it is absolute. Israel has a stated assurance in Genesis 12: 3 and that promise will be kept. Did He not keep His promise that “in thee all the families of the earth be blessed” by providing a Savior for all mankind?
Apparently on May 14th, 1948 when Israel was declared once again a nation, Harry Truman was aware of Genesis 12: 3. He knew that by embracing Israel, the U.S. would continue to be blessed. America and Israel have since been friends and allies.
Many of today’s politicians seem to be unaware of God’s special place in the world for Israel or other scriptural warnings. By the coming destruction of the alliance, America may soon experience a state of dire consequences it has not previously known.
This abandonment is direct and certain Bible prophesy. God will once again demonstrate His awesome power to show the world who He is (Ezekiel 39: 6). Some reading this may regard it as nonsense but watch and learn.
Zechariah 12: 3 “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”
The Bible is proven accurate in its predictions of future events. Another certainty in our future is Philippians 2: 10-11 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
