What deplorable conditions inside Polk County Animal Services? And with only one vet working decisions to put down animals come easy for the unprofessional and unmotivated staff.
An alarming discovery was made during a welfare check of Polk County Animal Services the animals that were recently picked out are still suffering in cramped cages, and unsanitary spaces because of the lack of space at Animal Services.
These could be considered a hoarding scenario for the Sheriff’s office, also, but Sheriff Grady Judd and his staff do not care.
This has prompted Sheriff Grady Judd to issue an urgent call for community support to adopt these animals. But we know that’s not going to happen.
With the shelter’s population nearly doubled overnight, the situation is dire, they are already starting to put animals down.
When a situation like this unravels, it’s not just the animals that suffer; it’s Judd’s integrity too.

You do not have to love a specific type of animal but decent respect everyone should show. I am surprised there are not more veterinarian’s donating time to this crises.

I an extremely surprised that more veterinarian’s who claim to love all animals are not giving up some time to volunteer and assist with this crisis going on. If everyone gives a little so much could be accomplished.
They are also fining TNR organizations for not paying to renew rabies tags.
