In a shocking development in a missing person’s case, human remains were found in the backyard of a home in Lowell, North Carolina, leading to charges against a Florida man.
The Lowell Police Department made the grim discovery while conducting a search as part of a missing person’s investigation. The investigation subsequently led to the involvement of the Gaston County Police Department, who announced on Friday evening that a Florida resident has been transported to North Carolina to face charges.
The remains unearthed at the home are now being sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for formal identification and further examination.
Gaston County Police later revealed that 55-year-old Kenneth Richard Johnson Jr. of Florida is being charged with a felony count of concealment of death. Johnson, it was disclosed, previously resided at the property where the remains were located, though he no longer lives there.
