Woman struck the bottom of the pool while riding the water slide, lawsuit says
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is facing a lawsuit after a guest was injured on a resort water slide, according to court records filed on Tuesday.
The lawsuit says that the guest — identified as Sarah Carney — was riding a water slide at the Animal Kingdom Lodge resort in June 2022.
Carney hit the bottom of the pool, causing her to sustain injuries “in and about her body and extremities,” the lawsuit adds.
According to court documents, Carney has “already suffered from all of these injuries, damages, harms and losses in the past, and they are either permanent or continuing.”
As a result, Carney is accusing Disney of negligence and seeking over $50,000 in damages.
Back in September, another woman filed a lawsuit against Disney after she suffered a “painful wedgie” at The Typhoon Lagoon waterpark.
In that case, the impacts of the slide caused her swimsuit to “be painfully forced between her legs and for water to be violently forced inside her,” that lawsuit reads.
