A Lakeland man has been arrested after his indictment on felony and misdemeanor charges for his alleged actions at the U.S. Capitol during the riot of Jan. 6, 2021.
The Department of Justice on Friday announced the arrest of Thomas Paul Osborne, 40. He becomes the seventh current or former Polk County resident indicted in relation to the U.S. Capitol attack.
Osborne is charged with civil disorder, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building or grounds.
FBI agents arrested Osborne in Lakeland on Thursday, and he made his initial appearance in the federal court for the Middle District of Florida.
The FBI identified Osborne as figure No. 347 on its BOLO (Be on the Lookout) list of people captured in photos at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. The U.S. Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department assisted in identifying Osborne, the Department of Justice said in a news release.
