Vehicle 1, a Suzuki motorcycle, operated by a 28-year-old Tampa man, was traveling westbound on Hillsborough Avenue at a high rate of speed. Vehicle 2, a Cadillac XTS, was traveling eastbound on Hillsborough Avenue.
At the intersection of Montague Street, Vehicle 2 turned left into the path of and was struck by Vehicle 1. Driver 1 was thrown from the motorcycle upon impact and suffered fatal injuries at the crash scene. The motorcycle erupted in flames post-impact. Driver 2, a 67-year-old Tampa man, suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.
