The Lakeland Police Department and Lakeland Fire Department are joining together to host a collaborative Career Fair for those interested in exciting career opportunities as Police Officers, Firefighters, or 911 Emergency Communications Specialists. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Community Room at the Lakeland Police Department, located at 219 North Massachusetts Avenue. Recruiters and experienced professionals from both agencies will be on hand to answer any questions about the hiring process, benefits, academy sponsorships, training, and more! Tours of the 911 Communications Center will also be available.

Established in 1916, the Lakeland Fire Department has a rich service history, responding to more than 30,000 service calls annually in its 84-square-mile response area. LFD is rated as an ISO 1 Department with 212 employees, 7 fire stations, an administration building, training center, and a vehicle maintenance facility. LFD provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) services and is a non-transport career department.
