An alleged illegal alien from Guatemala was apprehended Saturday for alleged charges of kidnapping a minor under the age of 13 and sexual assault, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, Marvin Perez Lopez was arrested Saturday on the charges of kidnap to sexually assault of a minor under 13, and sexual battery on a minor under 12 years old.
The suspect is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on no bond, police said. Perez Lopez was also charged with resisting an officer without violence.

According to the sheriff’s office, detectives discovered through investigations Perez Lopez entered the U.S. in January by crossing through Mexico and subsequently surrendered himself to Border Patrol officials.
Following his surrender, he was purportedly provided a court date set for 2027 and was released by authorities. Perez Lopez arrived in Florida by the end of January.
Perez Lopez’s arrest led to reactions on social media, pointing to the Biden administration’s release of the suspect.
