Public safety needs in the City of Lakeland can be funded by federal dollars

According to recent media reports, $3.7 million dollars is available to fund the public safety needs identified by the Fire and Police Chiefs in the City of Lakeland. Apparently, the potential exists to use these dollars for other projects and instead raise taxes to fulfill the needs of public safety.
