Florida Transport Company is laying off employees, including Student Transportation Of America and MV Transportation. And now another – Raven Transport Holding, Inc. – will conduct layoffs.
About Raven Transport Holding, Inc.: According to the company’s website, it is a transportation business that has been in business for over 23 years and operates five units in Florida and Georgia. It possesses trucks that allow the hauling of up to 51,000 pounds.
Before the layoffs that I will discuss below, the company employed 352 drivers.

Although the company primarily focuses on the southeastern part of the United States, its website indicates that it has coverage in 22 states and also has railway and port capabilities.
Shutdowns and Layoffs: Because Raven Transport is shutting down its over-the-road and dedicated fleets, staff and drivers who worked on these fleets out of the Jacksonville facility are being laid off beginning on June 30, 2024, per a warn letter dated April 30, 2024.
These layoffs are expected to be permanent. The affected employees do not have bumping rights and they are not part of any union.
Of the 83 employees affected, 57 are drivers, and the rest have job titles like dispatchers, managers, load planners, operation specialists, and recruiters.
