We had an amazing time celebrating the grand opening of the Rose Dynasty Foundation Inc.‘s Rose Dynasty Center, a place where LGBTQ+ youth and their families can get resources to help with their journey through life. The center is also home to a branch of Pineapple Healthcare, a medical organization providing affordable healthcare services to all, with an emphasis on serving the LGBTQ+ community.
It was fantastic to be a part of the huge crowd, see some familiar faces, and celebrate the opening of a much-needed facility in Polk County. Our LGBTQ+ youth are incredibly valuable and, as a society (not just a school system), we need to do more to support them, spend more time listening to their needs, and be better at accepting, affirming, and encouraging them.
