Avelo Airlines is expanding its network connectivity within the US by commencing four new routes from Connecticut. These new destinations include gateways within Texas, Missouri, Florida, and Michigan, making these non-stop direct services from Connecticut exclusive to Avelo Airlines.
Four new connections
This week, US-based low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines introduced four new services from its hub in the south of Connecticut: Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN). The four routes connecting HVN are St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL), Houston William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport (TVC), and Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL).
What makes these routes special is that Avelo will be the only airline operating nonstop service on them. This will increase the convenience for passengers traveling between these cities while also allowing Avelo to expand its operations and market share without competition. Additionally, Avelo is the only low-cost carrier operating from Connecticut to the states of Texas and Michigan.
The airline, regarding its route launch to LAL, stated that it will be the first airline to serve the airport in over 10 years and that Avelo sees the airport as a more convenient gateway for passengers to access central Florida when compared to larger airports in the city – Orlando and Tampa.
The airline will be the only carrier offering scheduled commercial passenger operations at Lakeland.

The carrier launched all four services this week with varying frequencies, and the service itineraries are as follows:

At the time of writing, all services have been / will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737-700 aircraft, which are configured with a maximum seat capacity of 149.
However, it is worth noting that the carrier has the flexibility to use its fleet of larger Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a seating capacity of 189, if passenger demand requires it.

Rapid expansion
The carrier, in recent times, has been expanding its route network to connect to more airports within the US. Just a month ago, the carrier launched two new services, one connecting HVN to Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) and the second connecting Burbank Bob Hope Airport (BUR) to Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
The carrier is also set to launch a new service from HVN to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) next month on July 12th.
Flights from New Haven will begin next month.
Despite the rapid growth, data for the month of May show that the airline had the highest on-time performance and the lowest cancelations among the US carriers.
