20-year-old Brad Shaw and 18-year-old Morgan Drye of Lakeland got arrested by the Polk County
Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning, September 5th, at around 3:30 am. Brad and Morgan were in a silver 2017 Ford Focus that had been reported stolen to Lakeland PD on September 3rd.
A deputy saw the car traveling in west Lakeland and made a U-turn to get behind it. Brad & Morgan got spooked, got out of the car, and tried to get out of the area on foot.
A PCSO K9 made sure that the last part wasn’t successful for the criminal couple. Deputy Oestreich and her fuzzy partner Ace quickly found Brad & Morgan as they were hiding in some bushes on Leola Avenue (near W. 10th and N. Galloway Rd).
The property where they chose to hide was enclosed in a fence that had “No Trespassing” signs posted. The couple was arrested and taken to the Polk Pokey where they were charged with grand theft motor vehicle, burglary, and resisting. Brad was additionally charged with violation of probation. He was on probation for grand theft motor vehicle. Imagine that.
