The Lakeland Flying Tigers beat the Clearwater Threshers 6-1 last night at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater.
With the win, Lakeland advances to play the Palm Beach Cardinals for the Florida State League championship.
Game 1 begins at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland. Games two and three (if necessary) take place at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter.
Lakeland won Florida State League championships in 1976, 1992, and 2012.
