U.S. Rep. Scott Franklin, R-Lakeland, will host the second annual Vet Fest on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium, 2301 Lakeland Hills Blvd., in Lakeland.
Vet Fest is a community event to inform veterans of available resources and provide on-site support from the Department of Veterans Affairs and other veterans service organizations, Franklin’s office said in a news release.
The event will include toxic exposure screenings, women’s health services, and mental health support. Veteran attendees can also receive assistance with healthcare enrollment, employment assistance, housing counseling, and transportation services.
Representatives from James A. Haley VA Hospital will be present to provide support and services. Parking and admission are free, and no advance registration or sign-up is required.
