A helicopter made a rough landing at Lakeland International Airport on Thursday.
Adam Lunn, assistant airport director at Lakeland International, said the incident happened just before noon on the south side of the airport. It was a privately owned aircraft.
Airport personnel, the Lakeland Fire Department, and the Lakeland Police Department responded to the scene. There were no injuries.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board, or NTSB are investigating.
A witness, Joshua Lord, said he was heading to work near the airport about 11:45 a.m. when he saw what appeared to be a helicopter spinning out of control.
A picture taken on the other side of the building shows the aircraft intact.
