Harrison String Orchestra to Perform in New York City
The Harrison String Orchestra is proud to announce an upcoming performance tour to New York City from April 3-6, 2025. This exciting opportunity will showcase the orchestra’s exceptional talent on a national stage while providing students with a once-in-a-lifetime musical and cultural experience.
During their time in New York, orchestra members will participate in a clinic with a conductor from the world-renowned New York Philharmonic, offering an invaluable learning experience. The highlight of the trip will be a performance at the historic St. Paul the Apostle Church, located in the heart of Manhattan. Known for its breathtaking architecture and acoustics, this venue provides an inspiring setting for the orchestra to share their music with a New York audience. The performance will be at 3:00 PM and will be free for all to attend.
Beyond their performance, students will immerse themselves in the vibrant cultural scene of the city. The itinerary includes attending a Broadway musical, a performance by the New York Philharmonic, a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and sightseeing at iconic landmarks.
“We are thrilled for our students to have this opportunity to perform in such a prestigious setting and engage with some of the finest musicians in the world,” said Matthew Davis, Director of the Harrison String Orchestra. “This trip will not only enhance their musicianship but also create lasting memories and inspire their love for the arts.”

Students and families from the Musical Theatre Department at Harrison School for the Arts will travel to New York City March 13-17 for the “At Home with Harrison” learning tour. Highlights of the trip include workshops with cast members from the Broadway companies of The Outsiders and Hamilton, attending performances of The Outsiders and The Great Gatsby, as well as visits to NYC landmarks like The Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 Memorial, and The American Museum of Natural History. The trip will conclude with “At Home with Harrison”, a cabaret performance at the storied 54 Below. This concert, an evening of songs that reminds us that “home is what you take with you, not what you leave behind”, will feature alumni and friends from the Great White Way and national touring companies (https://54below.org/events/harrison-school-for-the-arts-alumni-friends-at-home-with-harrison/).
Harrison School for the Arts is pleased to present the Visual Art Exhibit SNEAK PEEK at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13 in the art gallery.
Advanced Placement visual arts students will exhibit artwork for their Spring submissions to the College Board for their AP exams. The work in this exhibition will include pieces from AP Drawing, AP 2D Design and AP 3D Design
