I am a former student of Victory Christian Academy. I saw your reporting on the recent lawsuit filed against the church and would like to submit a tip on a former teacher/ coach at VCA who was arrested in the past few years for child sexual abuse. 

It was reported in the local news where he lives, but never in Lakeland and I’ve never seen anyone draw the connection between him and VCA.

His name is Rick/ Ricky Brewer, and he was a high school social studies teacher and the girls’ head basketball coach. He was at the school for at least 4 years.

It was widely joked about in the school that he was weird with the girls, but to my knowledge, the administration never took it as something serious.
