Vehicle 1, a Kia K5 sedan, driven by a 39-year-old Ridge Manor man, was traveling eastbound on SR-50. Vehicle 2, a tractor trailer, driven by a 61-year-old Brooksville man, was traveling westbound on SR-50. At the intersection of South Main Street, Vehicle 1 turned left into the path of and was struck by Vehicle 2. Driver 2 was uninjured during the incident; however, Driver 1 suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Additionally, traveling in Vehicle 1 were two passengers, a 71-year-old Ridge Manor woman and a 49-year-old Ridge Manor woman, both of whom suffered serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals. After being transported to the hospital, the 71-year-old later expired from her injuries.
