Southeastern University’s (SEU) School of Music will be hosting three free shows on its Lakeland campus within the next two weeks. Please read below for more details.
On Thursday, March 20, there will be a Piano Spark concert featuring guest performer Sean Kennard at 7 p.m. in the Buena Vida East Choral Hall. Kennard is an American classical pianist who has appeared as a soloist with orchestras around the world including the Prague Radio Symphony, NHK Chamber Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic, and many more.
Kennard has also won top prizes in notable music competitions such as the Queen Elisabeth Competition (Belgium), the International Music Competition of Vina del Mar (Chile), the Vendome International Piano Competition (Portugal), and the Sendai International Music Competition (Japan), among others.
On Saturday, March 22, the School of Music will host “A Night at the Opera… Scenes” at 7 p.m. in the Buena Vida West Auditorium. This event will feature student performances from a variety of operatic works.
On Thursday, March 27, SEU’s piano faculty will perform a Piano Spark concert entitled “Etudes & Images” at 7 p.m. in the Buena Vida East Choral Hall. Several faculty members will be playing the works of Chopin and Debussy.
