What’s even more troubling is the fact that during that time period, 21 dogs and cats died while in the shelter, and 92 cats escaped. Escaped? How is that even possible? UNCONSCIONABLE!

Can this paper send this to the Senate who has supposedly a PACT ACT that protects animals?? Where the hell are they in all this massive nationwide killing of innocent babies? All for Profit! It’s kind of crazy how when random people kill animals or neglect animals there is serious punishment ( which should actually be in all opinion death penalty) yet when people above the law or even animal shelters do it that’s totally ok. I don’t believe in any kinds of animal deaths and for this to be able to happen with no repercussions is totally sick and disgusting.

Maybe you should be talking about the Animal Control Administrator of Polk County. She is the one who oversees the running of day to day animal services and would be authorizing euthanasia. If you’re going to be angry, at least try to make sure you’re angry at the right people. Quit just reading headlines and assuming they are 100% true.

The nation’s shelters for uncared-for pets (primarily dogs and cats) overflow with cute furbuddies Americans can’t or won’t accept as their companions. Rescue pets might be fortunate enough but many are not. Rather than having them released to fend for themselves (and becoming a nuisance), we choose to have those euthanized in a largely kindly manner. Taxpayers would not want to keep paying more and more to house and feed a growing population, so we set limits on the budgets for animal pounds. The blame properly rests upon all of a community, with its collective wisdom/cruelty. Blaming a sheriff (apparently) for enforcing our policies and laws is basically ridiculous.
