On April 1, 2025, at 7:26 p.m. LakelandPD officers were dispatched to a package theft from a residence in northeast Lakeland. The victim said her package was taken around 2:10 p.m. and she provided a video of the crime. The video showed a white female suspect riding a bicycle stopped and retrieved the package from the porch, then rode away on the bicycle.
Searching of the area, officers found Katherine Shaughnessy (age 32 of Lakeland) a few blocks away. She had changed clothing but was still riding the bicycle. Shaughnessy admitted to taking the package and was arrested for Burglary and Petit Theft.
