Fugitive Apprehended by Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy on South Combee Road
Forty-six-year-old Michael Gutierrez of Mulberry found his run from the law cut short on Wednesday, July 16th, when he was apprehended by a Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy in Lakeland.
Gutierrez was wanted on an active warrant for Violation of Probation, stemming from a charge of Battery by Strangulation.
The arrest unfolded around 5:51 p.m. when Deputy Mathis responded to a tip regarding a wanted person in the area of South Combee Road and Ellis Avenue.
Upon arrival, Deputy Mathis quickly located and made contact with Gutierrez, taking him into custody without incident.
Authorities confirmed that the warrant for Gutierrez’s arrest was issued after the Department of Corrections determined he had committed a staggering half-dozen violations of his probation terms.
Following his apprehension, Michael Gutierrez was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center, where he was booked on his outstanding warrant.
