I was contacted by a responsible colony caretaker earlier today. Seems he was contacted by Animal Control and told to stop feeding cats or he will be sued for damage to cars at a car lot next door. He has had over 20 cats spayed and neutered through a local non-profit. These cats are well fed, twice a day. The business owner was seen photographing the cats eating in his yard.
We need protection for Community Cats here in Polk County.
What kind of organization tells a person to stop feeding cats, and they’ll go away. Where will they go??? There are restaurant dumpsters about a block away, but the cats will need to cross a busy 6 lane highway.
Polk County, are you ok with the way @Grady Judd is managing Polk County Animal Control?
Our Country Commissioners hold the keys to changing the ordinance to protect the cats.
Join us and fight for these cats. Polk County is one of the highest kill counties in the nation.
