LFD was honored to host Florida CFO Blaise Ingoglia and his staff at the Lakeland Fire Department yesterday, along with Representative Jennifer Kincart Jonsson and Representative Jennifer Canady.
The Division of State Fire Marshal, under the Florida Department of Financial Services, awarded the Lakeland Fire Department $35,625 in state funding to help purchase an SCBA washer. This investment improves decontamination practices and aligns with statewide cancer-prevention standards for firefighters.
And thank you to our own Driver Engineer Paramedic, Clay Gieger, for speaking about his journey as a cancer survivor and how legislation, awareness, and continued support directly impact the safety of firefighters across Florida.
