A person was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after being shot by a Polk County deputy, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities said the person who was shot was the suspect in an investigation, and no deputies were injured. The incident happened on Saturn Street in Lakeland.
The 10th Judicial Circuit’s Officer-Involved Deadly Incident (OIDI) Task Force was at the scene investigating on Wednesday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office did not provide any further details regarding the incident but said it plans to release more information on Wednesday evening.
