Last week, our team, along with a specialized contractor, worked to remove rubber deposits from our runway. 
Why it matters: rubber buildup from aircraft tires during landing can reduce runway friction, especially when wet, creating conditions that can contribute to hydroplaning and longer stopping distances. This work helps keep operations safe and reliable for everyone flying in and out of LAL.
