While a current burn ban in Polk County includes a prohibition on lighting fireworks, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office says deputies will take a commonsense approach to enforcement over the New Year’s Eve holiday.
Regardless of the county, fireworks, although technically illegal in Florida, are permitted on three designated days per year, which is something the Polk County Sheriff’s Office will take into consideration.
